Sales Action Plan/ Plan de Accion en Rebajas

Sales are here and soon they will be crossing the pond to Europe too. For those like me, who could use a "plan" to not get distracted or overwhelmed, this is a start. Based on some of the upcoming trends for this Fall, I've chosen some pieces on sale that we can show off now and ride out until December. We'll add some tights here, a sweater there, a pair of boots...What a sweet feeling it is, five months later, knowing that you are so on trend, to say you bought it on sale when someone asks: "Where did you get your dress?" Hey, who doesn't want two for one?

 

P.S: Most of the websites included here have an equivalent in other countries. Just go to the home page and switch the country.

Ya aquí empezaron las rebajas, aquellas que en unas semanas cruzarán el charco hacia Europa. Para las que como yo, necesiten un mínimo plan de acción para evitar distracciones y/o agobios (de los nervios que me dá ver todo a esos precios), he elegido algunas piezas que podemos ponernos ya y que las pasarelas y pre-colecciones nos aseguran estarán con nosotras hasta Diciembre.

Un dos por uno de toda la vida, que sólo necesitará de pequeñas variaciones, unas medias por aquí, un sweater por allá, unas botas por el otro lado... pero la base está ahí y además, la compramos a un precio estupendo! Qué bien sabe decir eso después de un par de meses, sabiendo además, que vas a la última, o no?

Glam Up Your Sweatshirt!

Nos encanta que nuestras lectoras nos pidan un post sobre algo en lo que ellas estén pensando últimamente así que Ana, va por tí!

A los pocos meses de empezar el blog, mi amiga Alyssa buscaba conjuntos para ir a trabajar fuera de lo aburrido y lo estrictamente clásico. Y lo hicimos! Ahora le ha tocado el turno a la sudadera! Una prenda cuya versatilidad se ha reinventado este año, convirtiéndola en apta para todos los públicos de la mañana a la noche.

Lejos del típico conjunto sudadera+denim, éstas son las nuevas reglas de oro:

1. Sudadera+Falda= Lo más! Y además, cuanto más original sea la falda y más detalles tenga mejor: lentejuelas, encaje, cuero... Añade textura al simple algodón y triunfa.

2. Métetela por dentro: No siempre, pero sí cuando la ocasión lo requiera. Le quita parte del look deportivo, pero que nadie me pregunte por qué porque no tengo ni idea. Efecto visual inexplicable???

3. Collares Maxi con Brillos: Quién dijo que el arreglado pero informal de Isabel Pantoja no iba a ser tendencia? Pues llegó el momento. Añade un mega collar con mega pulseras. Cuanto más brillen mejor!

4. Un Clutch: accesorio indispensable que borra cualquier resquicio de informalidad que pueda quedarle...si es que quedaba algo...

Ana, ya puedes sacar tus antiguas sudaderas del armario y "re-estrenarlas" mañana mismo!

We are so happy when our readers ask us for a post about a piece that they are liking lately. This one´s for you Ana! 

Shortly after starting the blog, my friend Alyssa was looking for new pieces to update her working wardrobe making it fun and trendy but keeping it always very professional. And we found her some ideas! Now, it´s the sweatshirt´s turn! This piece has been totally reinvented this year. Safe for all occasions 24/7, love it.

We go beyond the obvious sweatshirt+denim. These are the new golden rules of how to wear it: 

1. Sweatshirt+Skirt: La crème de la crème! The more details the skirt has, the better: sequins, lace, leather...Add texture to the simple cotton piece and conquer. 

2. Tuck it in: Not always but only when you want to erase its casual look. I don´t exactly know why tucking it in has that outcome but it actually does! Some inexplicable visual effect... 

3. Statement Necklaces with Bling: The bigger and shinier the better and also, can you please add some bracelets to that? 

4. A Clutch: this accesory takes away any hint of casualness...if there was any left... 

 Ana, start digging your old sweatshirts out of the closet and get ready to "re-wear" them with a whole new twist!

My Fall Guilty Pleasure

Mira que ya es raro que me guste una falda y más raro todavía que no sea pegada y mini...bueno, mini sí es... pero esta temporada me decanto por la falda godet o falda de patinadora o como quieran llamarle. Ya tengo 4...

Como ya dije en mi post de principio de septiembre "Empiezan nuevos tiempos", los cambios aunque pequeños, cuentan. Mi toque preferido: combinarlas con una sudadera o suéter de lana suelto. Y para muestra, un botón...

[Find the skirts at: Stradivarius / Forever 21 / Zara / Topshop ]

It is actually rare that I like a skirt and more rare still that the skirt is not tight and mini... well, looking at it now, it is mini... but this season I am all about godet skirts or skater skirts or whatever name you want to give them. I already have 4...

As I already said in my September post "New Beginnings", the smallest changes count. My favourite touch is pairing them with oversized sweaters or thick knits...the proof is in the pudding...

4 trends 1 outfit

A lo mejor no todo el mundo se puede permitir lo de las sneakers para ir a trabajar...Sólo tienes que sustituirlas por unos stilettos negros o botines de tacón y solucionado. Si no, guarda las ideas para el próximo finde! En este look llevo tres de mis tendencias preferidas para este invierno: el camuflaje, los macro-collares y las zapatillas de caña alta con cuña interior. Digo cuatro! Se me olvidaron los labios rojos mate. Mis pantalones son de Zara, camiseta de Alexander Wang (las colecciono, ésta es del año pasado), chaqueta-abrigo de lana de CH Carolina Herrera del año pasado también, collar de la colección de Anna Dello Russo para H&M y sneakers de la marca americana Steve Madden (en España Hakei las tiene muy parecidas.)

I'm concious that not everybody can wear sneakers to work... for those who can't, just change them for a pair of black stilettos or high heel booties and you are good to go! You can also save the ideas to create a weekend look. In this outfit I am wearing three of my favourite trends for the season: camouflage pants, mega-necklaces and hidden wedge sneakers. Actually I'm wearing four: I forgot the red matte lips! My pants are Zara, Alexander Wang muscle tee (I collect them, this one is from last year), knit coat from CH Carolina Herrera, Anna Dello Russo for H&M necklace and Steve Madden sneakers.

J Crew & Vogue, Chicago

 

Salí corriendo de trabajar, llegué a casa, me cambié los zapatos, añadí un collar gigante, me re-pinté los labios en color vino tinto y otra vez pa´fuera, pa´la calle (como diría Celia Cruz). Me voy derecha al evento de J.Crew, una tienda americana que estoy empezando a descubrir y aunque tirando a  “preppy”, esta temporada han dado un giro muy trendy a todas sus piezas básicas.
No me puedo creer que Chicago me haya regalado un día de verano en mitad del ya empezado invierno para lucir mis sandalias de terciopelo violeta (Gucci) con mi pantalón granate de Zara que no me canso de ponerme.

Mi jefa era la anfitriona del evento organizado por J.Crew y Vogue para presentar la nueva colección otoño/fiesta (ya nos acercamos a la navidad). El diseñador jefe de la colección de mujer, Tom Mora también estaba allí y le encantó cómo me quedaba el abrigo que tengo en la foto. Se acercó y me lo dijo!!

A Brittany (mi compañera) y a mí nos gustaron millones de cosas, como siempre, pero fue la bisutería lo que más nos llamó la atención. Ahora que sólo pienso en collares gigantes con piedras y brillos… no me podía despegar de la vitrina…los quiero todos.

I ran out of the office, came home, changed my shoes, added a huge necklace, fixed my red wine color lipstick and ran out again to J.Crew´s event. This is a store that I am actually just starting to discover and although it´s a little preppy (no offense), they are doing an amazing job revamping their classic pieces.

I still can't believe Chicago gifted me with a summer day when the winter had already started! I got to wear my beloved violet velvet Gucci sandals and my burgundy or ox blood (this is the trendy way of describing the color now) Zara pants that I can´t get enough of.

My boss, Melissa Skoog, was one of the hostesses´ of the event organized by J.Crew and Vogue with Tom Mora, Head of Women’s design to celebrate the fall/holiday 2012 collection. He approached me while trying on the coat and told me he absolutely loved it!!Me too...

Brittany and I liked a lot of things, as usual, but we just couldn´t stop staring at the beautiful jewelry collection they have in-store right now. Everything in the shadow case was just gorgeous! Since lately all I can think of are huge necklaces…I wanted to buy them all!

Treasure Series: Adri's Edition

These trusty red boots have been part of my closet for longer than I can remember . They're so old the label has worn off and the tips are all scuffed up. Yet, I refuse to get rid of them. Just wearing them puts a smile to my face and add's an unexpected 'pop' to my outfit. With a smile on my face and an extra dose of confidence for the day, there's a pep in my step cause nothing gets between my trusty red boots. Estas botas rojas han sido parte de mi armario más tiempo casi del que recuerdo. Eran tan viejas cuando las compré en una tienda vintage que ya no se veía ni la marca y las puntas estaban todas comidas. Con todo y con eso, me niego a deshacerme de ellas. No sé por qué, el sólo hecho de ponérmelas me pone de buen humor y me da una dosis extra de confianza para el resto del día. Voy pisando fuerte con mis queridísimas botas rojas. Adriana's:

-La forma avuelada de la falda nos permite llevar los tops por fuera o por dentro sin crear bulto.
-Considérala una pieza básica en tu armario aunque sea blanca! En invierno sólo añádele medias negras.

-Los vaqueros blancos son el lienzo perfecto sobre el que crear diferentes looks para el verano. Look hippie con tops floreados, look cañero con camiseta rockera, look básico con camiseta de cualquier color...
-No tengas miedo de ensuciarlos. Déjalos casi al ras del suelo. No hay cosa peor que pantalones de campana cortos...no puedoooo con ellos!!!

Trends we want to try...but have yet to

Estamos empeñadas... queremos un clutch para verano pero no nos decidimos:

Pensamiento nº1: total, ya tengo un montón de bolsos, lo usaré?
Pensamiento nº2: son algo incómodos...siempre teniendo que agarrarlos y además como soy un desastre soy capaz de olvidármelo en cualquier sitio.
Pensamiento nº3: Vale, no quiero uno caro y si lo compro lo quiero con color!
Pensamiento nº4: la verdad, qué monos quedan con vaqueros y camiseta blanca y hasta con shorts! Día y noche, convierten cualquier look sencillo en glamuroso y... por qué será?

We are determined....we want a clutch for summer but we can't decide if we really need it. Here's the process our mind is going through:

Thought #1:  I already own tons of purses, do I really need one more?

Thought #2: Clutches are soooo inconvenient. Always having to hold on and keep track of them. Ugh! Knowing me, I would probably lose it.

Thought #3: Well,  a bright colored one might add some pizzaz to my outfit...maybe I just don't buy an expensive one.

Thought #4: In all honesty, I could pair them with a white t-shirt and a pair of jeans or shorts, a black dress, a white dress, the lace skirt with...I could also it during the day, night, when I'm running errands, when I ....Ok ok the question now is why shouldn't I get one?

Fringe Boots for Everyone!

Parece mentira que haya tardado tanto tiempo en dedicar un post a uno de mis artículos de colección preferidos: los zapatos!! ¿Qué sorpresa no? ¡A todas nos encantan! Prometo que después de éste vendrán muchos más… igual un día hasta les enseño mi pequeña colección a ver qué les parece.

Pero ahora mismo, el grito de guerra es: NO SIN MIS FLECOS! Este verano hay que hacer un sacrificio por los botines de flecos y pasar un poco de calor…. Dan un aire entre boho, sofisticado y sexy que me encanta. Si además los unes a unos shorts o vestido ya ni te cuento (momento Ibiza). Se mueven contigo, siguen tu ritmo, te adaptas a ellos, se adaptan a ti…vamos, sal ya a buscar unos que te gusten porque además los vas a terminar de amortizar en invierno! It seems incredible that it took so long to dedicate a post to one of my favorite articles of clothing: shoes! Surprised? We all love them! I promise that after this there will be many more to come, and maybe one day I’ll do a post on my personal small collection to see what you think.

But for now, the battle cry is: NOT WITHOUT MY FRINGE! They give a vibe of boho, sophistication and sexiness that I love. Pair them with a dress or pair of shorts (living an Ibiza moment right here). They move with you, follow your rhythm, you adapt to them, they adapt to you. So what are you waiting for? Go find a pair that fits your style because you're going to want to wear them through fall and winter! See in Panache, we like to stay ahead of the trend.

A Closet Staple: Denim Tops

[1. Denim Plaid Top :: 2. Sleeveless Top :: 3. Bralete :: 4. Vest :: 5. Jacket ]

Four guidelines to denim tops:

1. Pair the boyish piece with a more feminine one to keep the outfit sexy.  For example, adding a belt, a skinny colored pant or a pair of high heels will make it happen.

2. You will only need two types of denim tops: both sleeveless and long-sleeved. You will make it through the year, during each and every season and from here to infinity. It´s a promise.

3. Go with pure and simple denim. We know you are loving the floral and studded details, but those will make it more difficult for the piece to last forever. (if you are in love with any...get a cheapie version of the floral or studded ones...we might do it too;)

4. Unlike the hammer pants sitting on top of your donations pile, never throw away any of your denim tops. Even if the piece is not popular at this moment, it always makes a comeback.Guaranteed.

Cuatro consejos a seguir para lucir tus partes de arriba vaqueras:

1.Combina siempre una pieza masculina (la parte de arriba o la de abajo, la que sea) con otra femenina para mantener un aire sexy. Un cinturón, unos pitillo de color o vaqueros o unos buenos tacones nunca fallan.

2. Sólo necesitas dos tipos de partes de arriba vaqueras: una con mangas y otra sin. Tirarás de ellas todo el año, en todas y cada una de las estaciones y hasta el infinito. Juraíto.

3. Hazte con piezas puras y simples. Yaaa, te encantan las que están saliendo con detalles florales y tachuelas pero esas ya no serán tan eternas.( hombre...si están bien de precio...igual una de esas también;)

4. Repetimos, las veces que haga falta, NUNCA tires tus partes de arriba vaqueras. Si las que tienes no están del todo a la moda este año, ya lo estarán el que viene. Garantizado. (este final es de slogan de detergente...)
